The Winners
of Molodist-97 International
Film Festival

The XXVIIth Kyiv International Film Festival «Molodist» was held under the high patronage of Ludmila Kuchma, Wife of the
President of Ukraine.
from the final meeting of the jury of the XXVIIth International Film Festival «Molodist», 26 October 1997
The Jury has decided to award the following prizes:
1. The Grand Prix «The Scynthian Deer» and monetary award of 10, 000 USD of the best film of the festival to the student film «Skud» by Donna Swan (Australia).
2. A monetary award of 2,500 USD to the best full-length feature film «Ma Vie En Rose» by Alain Berliner, (Belgique/France).
3. An award of 2,500 USD in sub-tilling by Laser Video Titres to the best short fiction film «Sunday Stories» by Euros Lyn (United Kingdom).
4. A monetary award of 2,500 USD to the best documentary film «Where did forever go» by Michael Dwass (USA).
5. An award of 2,500 USD in film from Eastman Kodak to the best student film «Reel Mix» by Valentin Valtchev (Bulgaria).
6. The Yves Montand prize and 5,000 FRF from the Centre for Cooperation in Culture and Language for the best young actor Romano Orzari for his performance in Burnt Eden by Eugene Garcia (Canada).
7. A jury diploma to the following :
  • full-length feature «Express, Express» by lgor Sterk (Slovenia)
  • student film «Wagonette» by Georg Ovashvili (Georgia)
  • documentary film «A Destiny of its own. A Dream» by lgor Malakhov (Ukraine)
  • short-fiction movie «Bound» by Alan Ross (United Kingdom)
  • short-fiction movie «Story of a young hurried man» by Alex Stockman (Belgium)
Special Mention of the Jury: «Today» by Marina Kondratieva (Ukraine).
