KROK 97 

International Film Festival “KROK” is the result of festival movement in Russia and Ukraine.
First festival was held in 1989. According to its regulations festival was not international, but at the same time animators from all over former Soviet Union, USA, France, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Israel were present there.

Thanks to the good organization and interesting competition programme festival instantly became interesting to the well-known world animators.

In 1991 festival acquires international status. That year it was held aboard the comfortable ship via Ukraine- Roumania – Bulgaria.

The second festival was patronized by ASIFA – international association of animation. And that year was recognized as the best International Film Festival ` 1991.

The experience with the ship appeared to be a tradition. Each festival afterwards traditionally was held on the ship, by the route: Dnepr river ( Kiev) – Black Sea. During the voyage the ship stops in Ukrainian cities, were a lot of warm meeting with spectators and animation shows usually held. All participants and guests of the festival could have the possibility to meet Ukrainian architacture, culture and live of Ukrainians.

Organization of “Krok” has particularity : isolation from town life makes an atmosphere of holiday and busy festival work at the same time.

Third festival was held in 1995. There were 120 films from 30 countries in competition programme.

“Krok” festival always invites qualified jury from all over the world: France, Russia, Belgium, Ukraine, Holland, Poland, Belorussia, Czech Republic and others. Within the every year festival programme the retrospectives of outstanding animation masters are to be shown.

On the fourth festival “ Krok” which was held in 1997, competition programme was consist of 160 films from 35 countries.

  • Prize for Category 3 ( Films from 10 to 30 min.)
